Plans and billing in the dashboard

Payment, invoicing, and tax are handled by the payment provider on our behalf. Upgrades take effect immediately with the difference prorated, while downgrades are scheduled for the end of the period you have already paid for, so you keep the higher tier until then and can cancel the scheduled change before it lands. Trials take a card up front, so a trial that converts does not stop to ask for payment details a second time, and while one is running the dashboard offers both Upgrade Now, which starts billing straight away, and Cancel Trial.
